BOARD OF STUDIES

    The Board of Studies (BoS) is the basic constituent of academic system of the institution. Its functions include framing the syllabi for various courses, reviewing and updating syllabi from time to time, introducing new courses of study, determining details of continuous assessment, recommending panels of examiners under the semester system and all other matters related to good governance of academics.

FUNCTIONS OF BoS

     1. prepare syllabi for various courses keeping in view the objectives of the college, interest of the stakeholders and national requirement for consideration and approval of the Academic Council

     2. suggest methodologies for innovative teaching and evaluation techniques;

     3. suggest panel of names to the Academic Council for appointment of examiners; and

     4. coordinate research, teaching, extension and other academic activities in the department/college.

Composition of BoS

    Board of studies of every department shall be constituted as per the UGC guidelines

The entire faculty of each specialization. Member
Two experts in the subject from outside the institution to be nominated by the Academic Council. Member
One expert to be nominated by the vice-chancellor from a panel of six recommended by the institution Principal. Member
One representative from industry/corporate sector/allied area relating to placement. Member
One postgraduate meritorious alumnus to be nominated by the Principal. Member
The chairman, Board of Studies, may with the approval of the principal of the institution, co-opt
(a) Experts from outside the institution whenever special courses of studies are to be formulated.
(b) Other members of staff of the same faculty.
