The Department of ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING has highly qualified and efficient staff. The main aim of the department is not only to provide a strong base but also to give exposure about the latest technological trends required to survive in the Industrial Sector. Technologies like VLSI, Embedded system, Image Processing; Computer Networks has helped us to mould quality engineers required in today’s competitive environment. Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates find opportunities in the Terrestrial and extra terrestrial communication systems like telephones, cellular phones, television, optical fiber communication, consumer and entertainment devices where most of them need electronics even the projects taken up here are serving mankind.

The Department of Electronics & communication Engineering (ECE) was started with an academic intake of 60 students in the year of 2008 and now it is enhanced with an intake of 240 students from its Enormous growth. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty. The main aim of the department is to provide strong base in the core side and also in giving high exposure about the latest trends in the engineering which enables the students to enhance their knowledge in technological area and skills to compete with real world to reach high altitudes.

HOD Profile:

Dr.S.Sivanandam has completed his under graduation (B.E) in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Priyadarshini Engineering College, Vaniyambadi and completed his post graduation (M.E) in Medical Electronics at Anna University (CEG), Chennai. He pursued his Doctoral research in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, School of Bioengineering, SRM University. During the research period he has attended the various workshops on writing research article, Research methodology and Bio-statistics. Further, he attended the World Congress of Diabetes, India, 2013.

His field of research is non-invasive diagnosis and prognosis of pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus based on the infrared thermography. Further, he has received the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI-2013) award at the National level for presenting the non-invasive early diagnostic method for pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM, Ahmedabad); the award was received from the hands of Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, Chairman, National Innovation Foundation, India.
